Student Successes

Fort Street students are again to be congratulated for their recent success in a range of activities.

Eleanor Butcher of Year 12 has been awarded a Ministers' Award for Student Excellence. This was presented to her at a special ceremony by the Minister for Education and Training, Hon. Verity Firth, on  September 17th. Eleanor will also receive a Certificate of Commendation for her service to the community. This will be presented to her by Her Excellency the Governor, Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, on November 20th at Government House.

Our Senior Chess Team, consisting of four  Year 12 students and two reserves, have recently become Champions of the State Schools Secondary Competition. The team was led by Clive Ng, supported by Raymon Lei, Danny Yan and Matthew Juchau, with Mattias Braach-Maksvytis and Annika Humphreys as reserves.

Our Robocup Team were runners-up in the Premier Rescue State and National Competitions of the Australian Robotics Championships. The team was made up of five Year 9 and10 students: Daniel Playfair-Cal, Riley Berlecky, Simon Ko, Sam Bennetts, Gordan Liang.
